How to sync an iPhone with two (or more) Computers

I have been getting this question more frequently now that businesses seem to be trending away from Blackberries more toward iPhones. Users will have their music collection either at home or work, then they plug their phone in to sync with the new computer and get the dreaded message: ”the iPhone XXX is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?”

Obviously, erasing your iPhone everyday as you sync between your home and office machine is not what you are trying to do, so how do you fix this? It’s not as easy as much of what you do with iPhones can be, but at least it is possible with this workaround:

Microsoft has released Windows 8 as a Consumer Preview, meaning any user who wishes to take on the task of installing and seeing what this new version brings is able to do so.

My impressions? While it is packed with innovative features, I can’t help but feel compelled to touch my screen like a tablet, as many features seem touch-centric. While this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it is obvious that Microsoft is focused on the growing tablet market, and touch-enabled features are seemingly “bolted on” to a Windows 7 core. Once you get past the Metro interface, you get a bare desktop with a noticeably absent start menu. It certainly takes getting used to, and I’m not sure if I’m completely sold…yet. Possibly when the Windows 8 tablets hit the market and I can experience the true convergence of these platforms as Microsoft has planned, I will be able to see the wisdom of the changes that have been made. We will see.

I just put one of these systems together for my house, and I have to say it is one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time. A full custom arcade system can run into the $4000 range and up, so what is a nostalgic gamer on a budget to do? I found a great solution by combining a low-cost arcade console with a customized cabinet that can be easily built at home. You just need the controller, computer with monitor and keyboard, cabinet, and a little know-how about MAME and you can have your own personal arcade center. If you have an old computer laying around, you can use it to power this system since MAME has much lower hardware requirements than modern games do. I used a 7 year old Pentium 4 machine, and it works great, and the kids love it!
